The Butterfly House is sharing their birthday celebration by hosting a joint birthday party with the Very Hungry Caterpillar, as this iconic storybook character turns 50! The day will be filled with celebration including a Story Walk, crafts, live caterpillar encounters, and of course "meet and greets" with the Very Hungry Caterpillar himself!
You’re invited to the family-friendly Butterfly House Birthday Bash!
Date: Saturday July 20th and Sunday July 21st.
Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
For our birthday, you can donate to our "Pennies for Produce" birthday drive. You can also donate gift cards from local grocery stores for our staff to buy food for all our insects and animals! This will help us feed our butterflies, which averages over 1,500 pounds of fruit every year.
Applicants under 18 must have their parent/legal guardian complete a Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form in order to volunteer for Bookworm Brunch
You will be stationed inside and/or outside the Butterfly House. Your assignment is to:
- Assist with butterfly-themed crafts/activities
- Activity assistants will help from 9:30am-1:00pm OR 12:30-4:00pm
- We are looking for a volunteer to play as the Very Hungry Caterpillar.
- Volunteer should be between 5'0" and 5'4" and average builld
- Mascot volunteer will assist from 11:30am-1:30pm OR 1:30-3:30pm
