Unlocking Futures will be hosting its first summer program in July. The program is geared towards providing additional math, reading, and science skills to youth in grades 3-6th grades who are at risk based on various circumstances. Youth will engage in various reading activities, as well as conduct various science experiments that will allow them to utilize and build up their math skills. In addition, to academics the camp will focus on building empowerment and self-esteem among the youth to help decrease negative behaviors as well as provide coping mechanisms for those dealing with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Youth will be provided two evidenced based curriculums one dealing with thoughts and emotions and the other on leadership skills. Fridays will be field trips days will youth will travel to participate in various scheduled activities. This opportunity is part-time and will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays beginning July 8th.

Duties include:
Helping youth who are struggling to read by providing one on one assistance
Facilitating group activities to ensure they are ran smoothly
Accompanying youth on field trips to ensure all youth make it to and from the field trip safely
Make sure all activities have the necessary supplies to be accomplished
Help guide youth during leadership activities by encouraging them
Bring a FRIENDLY child like spirit
Be approachable (These children will be at-risk youth and have various situations going on in their lives you must be approachable and willing to listen to their concerns)

This would be a GREAT opportunity for a school teacher, college students, stay at home mom's, or anyone who has a heart and passion to help youth.
