WHAT WE WILL DO:
Project Helping volunteers will serve a meal to the men, women, and children at The Crossing, a transitional facility that houses the STAR Transitional Program and the New Life Program (NLP) for Denver Rescue Mission.
The Crossing is Denver Rescue Mission’s largest location. It serves 130 New Life Program men and provides up to 100 rooms for families that are STAR transitional program participants. Bible studies, case management, counseling, and meals allow families and individuals in their programs to save money and develop the life skills and relationships needed to maintain self-sufficiency after graduating their programs. Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports the mission at Project Helping and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. We’ll also send a reminder email and a text a few days before the event! More Questions? Email Project Helping at email@example.com or call 303-551-0624
