WHAT WE WILL DO:
Volunteers will be working on a variety of activities that will help improve parks and recreation areas for the community at large. These activities could include mulching trees, weeding, debris removal, raking or even painting but will vary depending on need, location and weather.
OTHER DETAILS:
The Parks and Recreation Volunteer department is excited to teach children and their families about how we all can contribute to the care of our community, the clear before/after difference each individual can make, as well as the ability to recognize what goes into creating these lovely, free spaces for all people in Denver. The Parks and Rec department is also committed to teaching volunteers about the different plants, flowers, and animals they may encounter. Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports the mission at Project Helping and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. We’ll also send a reminder email and a text a few days before the event! Questions? Email Project Helping at volunteer@projecthelping.org or call 303-551-0624
