WHAT WE WILL DO:

Project Helping volunteers will be tasked with helping to run various stations as well as a donation table. They will be showing kindness and love to families and community members within two lower-income communities. They will socialize, play sports, play games or engage in any other ways that are appropriate. They will help set up and tear down stations and activities as well as help to gather the family members from the community.

OTHER DETAILS:

The Denver Dream Center’s mission is "to reconnect people who have been isolated by poverty, substance abuse, gangs, imprisonment, homelessness, abuse and neglect to God and to a community of support to meet their physical and spiritual needs. Also, to help them develop a support system that will encourage them to make positive, long-term, God-honoring changes in their lives. The Adopt-a-Block program is an outreach that demonstrates Godʼs unconditional love to the Denver community through practical acts of service. These acts of service range from lawn care and home repair to delivering toys for Christmas and playing games in the neighborhood on an event Saturday. DDC partners with Denver Housing Authority and Denver Parks and Recreation in several locations to serve and love the community. Inspiring promotional video: https://youtu.be/iYfSKC6ecYU Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports the mission at Project Helping and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. We’ll also send a reminder email and a text a few days before the event! More Questions? Email Project Helping at volunteer@projecthelping.org or call 303-551-0624
