WHAT WE WILL DO:

Join Project Helping volunteers to organize, sort, inventory, and hang incoming donations to prepare them for the Store Floor. A Precious Child enables families to "shop" the Store Floor with a personal shopper for clothing and other basic essentials, all at no charge, in a dignified manner to increase self-esteem and improve their quality of life.

OTHER DETAILS:

The 2016 Kids Count in Colorado report found that 190,000 Colorado children are living in poverty. Children living in poverty are more likely to be in poor health, less likely to graduate high school on time, and more likely to live in poverty as an adult. Ensuring that children are properly clothed and have the necessary supplies to participate in school can have a dramatic effect because it helps children stay in school, promotes learning, and promotes positive self-esteem. Since their founding in 2008, A Precious Child, Inc. has supported kids in Colorado by providing them with basic essentials. Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports the mission at Project Helping and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. We’ll also send a reminder email and a text a few days before the event! More Questions? Email Project Helping at volunteer@projecthelping.org or call 303-551-0624
