The Enrichment Leader will create and conduct specific workshops based on selected topics. They will support foster junior high students emotionally, spiritually, and professionally by teaching them team building skills, leadership qualities, and confidence. The Enrichment Leader must be able to provide an interactive and positive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students
- Motivate and support students to help achieve their personal goals
- Create content for specific workshops
- Conduct workshop presentations
- Create an environmentally rich space for the students to get them involved and interested in the presentation
- Adjust the presentations to meet the needs of the students
- Monitor students’ progress and be able to address any issues that may arise
- Working with middle school and high school students on a weekly basis by leading one of our enrichment workshops
- Lone Hill Campus - Each workshop is once a week for 30 minutes (so plan on an hour each week)
Requirements:
- Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
- Possess strong organization, time management, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, parents and youth
- Ability to develop, implement and supervise lesson plans for personal, social, and academic development
- Possess a positive outlook and the ability to motivate and encourage others
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Reliable form of transportation
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must be comfortable with public speaking
- Have experience or extensive knowledge in any of the following areas:
- College Planning
- Resume and Interviewing
- Teen Violence
- Drama
- Writing
- Youth Stress Management
- Youth Leadership
- Nutrition (Healthy Habits)
- Works well with kids
- Be able to conduct an hour long presentation
- If hired, you are required to become a mandated reporter
Time Commitment:
- Monday-Friday from 3-6pm (Must be able to commit to at least one day - days can be assigned according to your availability)
- This internship is 4 months long and is renewable pending performance review
