Who we are:

Established in 1978, Villa Cathay is one of the first culturally focused senior care homes in Vancouver. Our founders saw the gap between the number of Chinese seniors that needed care and the availability of care beds for these seniors; thus, they took the initiative to purchase land and open a senior care home, Villa Cathay. Over the years, we have provided care to over 1600 seniors, with love, respect and dignity, and Villa Cathay became their home.

Villa Cathay is a non-profit organization.

Our Needs:

• We need individuals with a passion for marketing & social media - in all its forms - to promote our community here at Villa Cathay.
• We have various monthly writing pieces in the form of blog posts and newsletters that need to be written.

Your Skills & Experience:

• You will have good written Chinese and English.
• You will be familiar with the full Microsoft Office suite and WordPress.
• You will also have a flair for graphic design in the context of Villa Cathay’s current brand image.
• You will have a strong sense of what is relevant for Villa Cathay couple with a good attention to details.

Your Commitment:

• With this role, you can do as much or as little as you’d like - and some of it from home.
• Days of the week and the number of hours are flexible so please tell us your schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
• This can be an ongoing role or a project based role.

You will learn:

• You will fine tune your design skills. You will strengthen your WordPress, HTML and MS Publisher skills.
• This role is perfect for someone wanting to gain experience in an entry level marketing role or for a retiree wanting to rebuild their skills.
• This role is also perfect for a high school or university student looking for a social media project.
