We are looking for one more volunteer to join our current team of two people in stocking, sorting, and organizing our food donations. Relief Nursery receives food that is given to families in food baskets and made available to them to take on a daily basis from Food For lane County. Our two wonderful volunteers pick it up from there, typically on a Tuesday morning, and deliver it to the nursery to organize and display. This volunteer job involves a fair amount of physical activity, which is why it would be helpful to have another set of hands. The old adage is, 'many hands make light work' after all. Ideally, the volunteer would be able to work around the schedule of the other volunteers.

About Relief Nursery

Mission Statement

The mission of the Relief Nursery is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect by early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families.

Description

The Relief Nursery is a non-profit program proven to strengthen high-risk families and keep their vulnerable young children safe and healthy. Nationally recognized, the Relief Nursery stops the cycle of child abuse and neglect with its blend of therapeutic early childhood services and comprehensive family support, including alcohol & drug recovery support services.

We serve low-income multi-stressed families with young children between birth and six years of age, who are at-risk for child abuse and neglect. Relief Nursery programs are an effective model of child protection and family preservation services that build on the belief that most children are best served when they remain with their families.
