The Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3), educational association for Wisconsin’s private woodland owners. Since 1979, WWOA offers year-round educational opportunities for novice and experienced private woodland owners who want to become better stewards of their woodlands. In addition, WWOA publishes a quarterly, award-winning magazine, Wisconsin Woodlands, holds many local chapter events, sponsors workshops, conferences, field days and an annual meeting each September.

We're searching for our next AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator.

The deadline to apply has been extended, so apply today! Application review will be ongoing. The position is a full-time, 1 year position (September 2019-August 2020).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Contact and encourage members to share their skills and knowledge through volunteering
* Build volunteer capacity by contacting, placing, and training members for rewarding volunteer positions within the organization
* Attend AmeriCorps trainings and complete AmeriCorps required projects
* Promote volunteer opportunities
* Build partnerships with other organizations
* Create and maintain website and social media posts
* Attend board and chapter meetings
* Attend and gain experience from interesting training opportunities

PREFERRED SKILLS:
* Interest in natural resources and working with landowners
* Ability to work independently
* Good people and writing skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Word Press software
* Prefer technical school or college degree

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Able to serve the duration of 1700 hour term (35-40 hours per week)
* 21 years of age or older
* Possess a high school diploma or GED/HSED
* Agree to criminal background checks and Department of Motor Vehicles check
* Valid Driver’s License

Description

WWOA is creating tomorrow's woodlands today by offering educational events and activities for Wisconsin's private woodland owners on sustainable forest management.

WWOA offers workshops, field days, a 4 day annual meeting, quarterly magazine and website with up-to-the-date information to keep woodland owners informed on natural resource issues and management techniques affecting their woodlands.

Members enjoy sharing their knowledge and experiences so they learn as much from each other as they do from natural resources professionals.
