The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy launched the Pittsburgh Redbud Project, in 2016, in effort to add thousands of flowering Eastern Redbuds and other native trees to the city's landscape. Weeds often compete with these trees for space, water and nutrients. The removal of these weeds will not only beautify this site, but will also increase the chances of survival for these trees.
