Relief, Inc. is looking for 100 volunteers to help in recruiting donors and sponsors for its Annual Crab Fest fundraiser. This work is to take place in the seven(8) months leading up to the March 14, 2020 event (Sept 2019 ~ March 14, 200). Volunteers will be selling meal tickets, sponsorship Ad space and requesting raffle and auction items from local businesses. The following shifts and duties are listed below:

  • Photography/Videographer: To take photos and videotape our work leading up to the event and during the event.
  • DJ/Music done during the event.
  • Servers: Waiter/Waitress-Will be assigned to his or her own table at the event to make sure each table is properly served in keeping with customer Satisfaction.
  • Auctioneer: Must have auctioneering experience including the ability to encourage bidding.
  • Cashier: ability to use POS-point of sale.
  • Spotter: Watches for and locates bidders during the Live Auction.
  • Setup crew:
  • Take Down: the cleanup crew.
  • Marketing & Social media.
  • Raffle and Auctions Monitors.
  • Caterer: Make sure the servers come to the table from the kitchen as schedule.
  • Bartender: Mix and pour drinks.
  • Barback: helping at the bar
  • MC: Keep the flow of the program and timing.
  • Check-In: 2 volunteers

The mission of Relief, Inc. is to improve the lives of the people all over the world more specifically Liberia, West Africa and local Communities in Northern California by mobilizing the International Community. Relief, Inc. will minister to the PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL and SPIRITUAL needs of every MAN, WOMAN and CHILD in need of help. Our mission is focused on aggressively reaching our goals; however, this requires the generosity and assistance of many.

Description

Relief. Inc. is a Modesto based nonprofit founded by a Liberian woman, Phebe Dennis Fortt. Witnessing the 14 1/2 year civil war in Liberia from a distance, Mrs. Fortt has dedicated her life to improving the Liberian community and our local communities in Northern California.

The various phases of Relief Inc. include:

  1. Shipping books, school supplies yearly.
  2. Sponsoring Kids -In-School to get an education.
  3. Support Orphans-Through Art collaboration project
  4. Providing scholarships for women for college or vocational training, to establish self sufficiency.
  5. Shipping Medical supplies, Bed and mattresses to donate to hospitals.
  6. In addition to our Relief effort, we provide leadership and goal setting training to local high school and college students.
  7. We get volunteers involved in our charitable organization in ways that exposes them to things that they ordinarily would not experience until they are in the job market.
  8. We are known for our local Holidays food and toys giveaway as well as Valentine Healthy Basket for deserving school students.
