Guthrie Green: Rock the Block Concert Volunteers

Location: Guthrie Green

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Able to greet and direct guests and answer questions as needed
  • Provide a good impression to Performers, Managers, Agents and all Vendors
  • Checks Performers credentials to regulate those allowed within the hospitality area
  • Assist with set-up and break-down of decorations, barricades, etc.
  • Maintain stock of any food/beverages that may be in the hospitality area
  • Deals courteously and effectively with the public at all times
  • Responds promptly to guests needs
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and policies and procedures and helps maintain a safe and productive environment for guests, volunteers and staff
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions including damaged property in a timely manner
  • Responds to emergencies and alarm calls as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • Requires the ability to interact with guests, officials, and staff on a regular basis
  • Outstanding customer service
  • Basic level written and verbal communication in the English Language
  • Bilingual experience is a plus, but not required
  • You may be working closely with performers, and volunteers must be calm and collective around nationally recognized talent (if volunteers cannot do this, they will be removed from their station)

Shift Days and Times:

  • July 6th 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
    • Volunteers will assist with outside setup/volunteer check in. 2 volunteers will assist with indoor setup.
  • July 6th 12 PM - 4 PM
    • Volunteers will assist with last-minute staff needs and volunteer check in, 1 volunteer will be a "runner" and will assume the responsibility of gathering items and accommodating staff needs throughout the venue, and 1 volunteer will help with Uber/Lyft drop off.
  • July 6th 6 PM - 10 PM
    • Volunteers will be inside with office staff assisting with hospitality, outside assisting with crowd control (including media, staff etc.), assisting with Uber/Lyft pickup and dropoff, and will help with social media. Social media volunteers will need to take surveys that will be used in order to improve events in the future.
  • July 6th 7 PM - 11 PM
    • Volunteers will assist with tear down at the conclusion of the event including outdoor and indoor tear down and will assist with vendors such as food trucks, merchandise, etc.

This position requires substantial standing; moderate walking; minimal sitting; minimal reaching with hands and arms; no climbing or balancing; minimal stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; substantial talking or hearing; substantial lifting up to 20 pounds; moderate lifting 20 to 60 pounds; minimal lifting more than 60 pounds.

Substantial performance in wet or humid conditions; minimal performance near moving mechanical part;, no performance in high precarious place; no performance with or around fumes or airborne particles; no performance with or near toxic or caustic chemicals; substantial performance in outdoor weather conditions; moderate performance with moderate noise level; moderate performance with loud noise level.
