Every day, our drivers travel all over the Bay Area picking up donations that they bring back to our ReStores. They need your help!
What Is ReStore?
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home improvement products, building materials, and more at a fraction of the retail prices. Every purchase, every donation, and every hour volunteered supports our mission: build affordable homes in the East Bay/Silicon Valley area to empower families with strength, stability, and self-reliance.
What Will I Do?
As a truck driver's assistant you'll start at our Concord, San Jose, or Oakland locations in the morning and spend the day with the driver traveling around the bay in a commercial box truck, helping to load interesting (and sometimes large) donations like furniture and appliances, seeing parts of the Bay Area you never knew were there and enjoying good company and good conversation.
No experience is necessary and we provide all the necessary stuff to move items, like straps and dollies.
What Will I Bring?
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate work clothes. Finally, definitely lunch and/or snacks! Gloves and water will be provided.
Where do I meet the driver?
Depending on the day, the trucks will start in one of our three ReStore locations. Here is the weekly schedule:
- Tuesday - San Jose ReStore
- Wednesday- Concord ReStore
- Thursday-Oakland ReStore
- Friday- San Jose ReStore
- Saturday- San Jose ReStore
And Remember . . .
- Truck Assistants must be at least 18 years old.
- You might need to do some heavy lifting (we'll help!)
- Be sure to check the starting location for the day as we have 3 ReStores!
