Come join us for a sew- in at the GRCM! On July 13th from 12-3 we will be hosting Project 1 Artist, Amanda Browder who is a large scale fabric installation artist. She drapes fabrics on the sides of buildings using donated fabrics from the town she is working in. GRCM staff and guests will be helping her organize and sew together all the fabric donated in Grand Rapids!

Some tasks will include:

  • Organizing fabric by color
  • Placing fabric on the tables for pinning
  • Pinning the fabric
  • Sewing the pinned sections together
  • Maintenance of the sewing machines and being there if someone needs help
  • Greeting people who walk in and helping to direct
  • Organizing fabric as it is sewn
If you are proficient using a sewing machine, even better, but not required!
