We are seeking passionate professionals to assist in overseeing policy and direction, advising, and general promotion of TNW in support of our mission and needs. Board members must be sensitive to the needs of those experiencing homelessness and knowledgeable of the causes and obstacles of poverty. Candidates must live in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.

Length of Term: Two year

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic governance and mission-focused leadership
• Establish and evaluate TNW’s mission objectives and success
• Provide fiscal oversight to include budget development, review, approval and evaluation
• Be familiar with the TNW’s programs, policies, and operations
• Participate in quarterly Board meetings
• Actively serve on at least one TNW committee
• Advocate for TNW in the community and amongst local policy makers
• Promote awareness and understanding of the challenges of our neighbors
• Contribute $100 annually for membership dues

Qualifications: In addition to a demonstrated commitment to the mission of TNW, candidate must have extensive professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Finance/Accounting
• Fundraising/Fund Development
• Community Engagement
• NPO Management (or senior management experience in other areas)
• Program Development
