Help kids placed in foster care

Every day more children enter the foster care system. Most of these children come into care with nothing except for the clothes on their backs. Or perhaps, if they were lucky, a black garbage bag full of whatever the worker or parent managed to grab and toss into a bag. We try to make that first night in care just a tiny bit better by providing children with a duffle bag or backpack filled with items which will be needed right away. Things like a new outfit, new pajamas, a blanket, stuffed animal, toy, book, toiletries, and personal care items.

Three groups (Giving Orphans Hope, Lake Orion United Methodist Church, and provideInc) have been actively partnering together to collect and inventory supplies and on July 27 we will be welcoming volunteers to gather and assemble what we call "Grab and Go Bags". We would love for you to join us! This project is appropriate for elementary school children IF accompanied and assisted by an adult as well as mature, detail-oriented middle school and high school students as well as adults.

Feel free to contact Lori Naseef if you have any questions at Lori@provideInc.org.
