ORGANIZATION: Guadalupe River Park Conservancy

We are a community advocacy group for the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens dedicated to the completion of the River Park and Gardens as well as maintaining the park and providing educational opportunities.

Guadalupe River Park Conservancy is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate individual that is interested in helping us to create and implement a social media strategy for our urban park and for our Rotary Play Garden.

This is a long-term (minimum 1 year) commitment. Duties will be decided upon together by the intern and supervisor with the end goal of expanding our social media presence, reaching new park visitors, and increasing engagement through the creation and maintenance of a posting schedule. Special items to consider are that interns should be able to work independently and with minimal direction.

The time commitment varies, but candidates must be able to commit to regular shifts during the week.

The time of the shift depends on the individual, but can be any 2-3 hour shift from 9 00 AM - 4 00 PM. Specific shifts will be discussed with the supervisor. Ideally, the intern would be able to work two, two-three hour shifts per week.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has some experience with any of the following:

  • social media
  • environmental science
  • environmental justice

The volunteer should be detail-oriented, passionate about the environment, and willing to learn and help others to do so. We would also love to have someone who is enthusiastic and positive to complement our current volunteer and staff teams.
