The re-imagined Moore Square is set to open in August and with it comes a vast slate of programs and events to create an activated, vibrant, and welcoming environment! Many of these programs will rely on the support of volunteers whose knowledge, passion, and excitement make them thrive! Our volunteers, aka "Activation Ambassadors" will share support the following programs:

Reading Room
Moore Square encourages all our guests to "Read Moore!" in our reading room!

Volunteer Duty Description:
The Reading Room volunteers read to children, offer book suggestions, keep the carts and area tidy, and most of all, they make sure everyone who wants to read gets the opportunity. We strive to have the Reading Room available as often as possible for our guests. To accomplish this, we rely on the dedication of volunteers who can offer 2 hours of their time on an ongoing basis. Please consider making a difference in our community and share your love of reading! We anticipate the hours and offerings of the Reading Room to expand and change as we discover the needs and wants of our guests upon reopening.

Art & Games Cart
Moore Square celebrates creativity and urges guests to "Create Moore!"

Volunteer Duty Description:
At our Art Cart, volunteers have the opportunity to showcase their passion for creativity, art, and imagination. Volunteers will utilize the art cart supplies to develop, create, and/or teach simple creative make and take projects for participants. Additionally, volunteers may assist with a pre-planned project or cart workshop as scheduled. The Art Cart offers a variety of workshops and open crafting times throughout the week.

In addition to the art cart, Moore Square will offer board games and fitness equipment for guests to borrow during their time at the Square. Art Cart Volunteers may also help track, manage, and distribute this inventory of games and supplies.

Volunteer Schedule:
Once a background check is passed, volunteers will be able to sign up for any shifts for the above activities that will fit their schedules. You can volunteer as often as you would like based on available shifts. You will work directly with Moore Square staff to create a schedule.

Volunteer Impact:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to support members of the community by working with children and families in a creative capacity.

Work Environment:
Volunteers will work with families and children indoors and outdoors. There will be a restroom on site. Parking will not be reserved for volunteers.

Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All volunteers will need to pass a background check before volunteering.

Special Instructions:
Moore Square will provide all materials. Volunteers working with the Art Cart should wear clothes they do not mind getting paint on. Volunteers will be working with and around art supplies such as paint, markers and glue. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes such as sneakers.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
