Every year, Eden Housing hosts National Night Out (NNO) events at all of our affordable housing properties. This year the events will be held on Tuesday, August 6th. The purpose of NNO is to build community and promote safety. We invite police, local fire departments, and elected official to these events. We also include volunteers. This is one of our most popular volunteer opportunities as the events tend to be fun and engaging. At the event at Wexford/Carlow in Dublin, we could use a team of 16-18 to a ssist with set up, help with sign in tables, serving popcorn and cotton candy, facilitate the bounce house, games and activities, manage arts and crafts, then lastly, assist with clean up. This event will be fiesta themed and will feature food, entertainment, games, music and a raffle. Volunteers are expected to be present at 3:00pm and the event will end at 7:30pm.
Please note- because we are coordinating so many events across the state, we prefer to utilize groups rather than individual volunteers for these events.

Description
Eden Housing, Inc. is a California non-profit corporation founded in 1968 by six community activists who were concerned about the lack of non-discriminatory, affordable housing in Northern California. These volunteers began by rehabilitating older homes in Hayward for first time homebuyer families. In the mid-1980s, Eden Housing incorporated an affiliated property management company, Eden Housing Management, Inc. (EHMI), which currently provides quality onsite management and maintenance for more than 9,000 affordable homes throughout California. In the mid-1990's, Eden Housing expanded its scope to include the provision of free onsite support services and programs for its residents.Our services include technology programming; "green" resident education; youth academic, enrichment and recreation programs; programs for seniors and persons with disabilities; financial literacy; job/career preparation; and health and wellness programs for all ages.
Today, Eden has a portfolio of 9,000 units at 145 properties across 15 counties in California. Eden develops new construction and acquires and rehabilitates existing properties to preserve them. During the past 53 years, over 65,000 people have come home to an Eden Housing community. At Eden Housing, we have more than 20,000 households on our waiting list and a portfolio-wide vacancy rate of 1%, demonstrating a huge demand for our work.
