We are a 100% volunteer-run organization founded to give adapted bicycle joyrides to the sick, elderly, and disabled. If you are over 18, serious about safety, good at following rules, and want to help your
neighbors that can no longer ride a bike, we would love to have you apply to be on our pedaling team. It's paramount that you understand and agree that the rides are not about you -- this is not where you get your workout or show off your riding skills and speed! There are at least two volunteers per shift. One volunteer is the wheelchair bike pilot and the other is a ride-along that rides their own bike as a safety. We primarily pedal the residents of DaySpring Senior Living; however, we are open to anyone in the community that would like a ride. If the weather isn't ideal for riding, we play indoors (puzzles, dominos, et cetera). It's all about connection, community, and consistency. We require a minimum commitment of six months fulfilling at least one 3-hour shift per month. We ride on Saturdays (mornings when it's hot; afternoons when it's cold).
