As a hospice volunteer you are able to help out in many ways from administrative to direct patient companionship. Administrative volunteers can help with filing, mailings and follow-up calls to bereaved families. Direct patient volunteers help provide much needed companionship to patients by being a listening ear, talking of life review, music therapy or in some cases keeping the patient company while the caregiver has some "me" time.

If you are crafty we can also use your help in making homemade gifts for our hospice patients! If you play an instrument, music is a beautiful way to bring therapy to a patient. If you have a therapy dog, we could use you and your furry loved one!

If you have a caring, loving heart and a passion for helping others we would love to have you as part of our family! Giving someone a little attention, kind words, and some of your time could be the best medicine!

Our office is located in North Charleston. If you live in Berkeley, Charleston, or Dorchester County we would love to pair you with a patient/patients in your area. Please contact me if you are interested in our Volunteer Program! (All direct patient volunteers must be 18 and older and proof of the Covid vaccine)

Mission Statement

Here at Crescent Hospice we pride ourselves on treating our patients and their families the exact way we would all want our loved one or ourselves treated, with dignity, respect, love and compassion.

Description

We founded Crescent Hospice in response to personal healthcare experiences and the perceived need in South Carolina for a better hospice option for patients and their families. We know you are looking for trusted healthcare professionals to care for someone that is important to you. No request is too small, and no health need is too large for our specialized staff to address. It is our family’s wish to care for our community with the same compassion and dignity we would provide to our own families.
