The Coach is a volunteer position that works with a team of coaches to facilitate the Girls on the Run curriculum to program participants. This position entails approximately four hours per week for an 8-week commitment. ALL BACKGROUNDS AND ABILITY LEVELS WELCOME! No experience necessary.
REQUIREMENTS- One coach per team must be a woman
- CPR and First Aid certified. See class offerings below.
- Must consent to and complete a background check
- Attend Girls on the Run coach training (see dates in FAQ section)
- Commit to two practices per week for a weekly time commitment of approximately 4 hours. We understand schedule conflicts will occur during the season. Each team will be equipped with 2-3 coaches if there is a need to miss a practice.
- Have fun!
- Serve as a role model for program participants
- Prepare, organize and supervise weekly lessons
- Collaborate with other coaches for successful lesson delivery
- Facilitate communication with parents/guardians of program participants
- Participate in the Girls on the Run 5K

Description
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in third through eighth grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
