Make a Positive Difference in our Community: Visit Hospice Patients & Their Families!
Brookdale Hospice "Touching Lives. Making a Difference."
Brookdale Hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, and practical care for the patient, with emphasis on pain control and symptom management. Hospice care represents a full spectrum of care designed to respect the dignity of an individual facing a terminal illness. Our program is a reflection of our spirit of caring. We emphasize comfort, dignity and respect. We believe that centering our focus on both the patient and the family enables us to provide the best care.
As a Hospice Volunteer you are specially trained to support the patient and family in a variety of ways: companion visits for patient and family, spiritual support Volunteer, Vigil Volunteer (sitting with someone who is actively dying), helping provide clerical office support, bereavement visits / support calls, and participating in special projects.

Mission Statement
Enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity.
Description
The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.
Volunteers are an important part of our hospice team, filling roles that include direct contact with patients and clerical support. Medicare requires the utilization of volunteers alongside paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. We value our volunteers greatly.
