Are you looking for a fun way to help out your community while doing something you love?

Elara Caring Hospice is looking for volunteers who have a gift for crafting. We are looking for individuals who would like to help make sensory craft items for our patients and volunteers to enjoy together during their visits.
Some items that would benefit our hospice patients include:
fidget blankets: https://www.patchworkposse.com/fidget-quilts/ and
i-spy rice bags: https://www.learning4kids.net/2015/11/25/homemade-eye-spy-sensory-bag-keeping-kids-occupied-in-the-car/

WHY IS HAVING THESE SENSORY ITEMS IMPORTANT FOR SENIORS?:
As Alzheimer’s progresses, a senior’s ability to communicate and perform everyday activities declines. Giving these seniors means to express themselves, when they can no longer do so with words, can help them feel safe and relax.

Please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Katelyn Kortokrax, if you are interested in making items for hospice patients in the area. All donations are very much appreciated by our staff and our patients and their families.
Email: kkortokrax@elara.com
