Young women who have grown up in foster care have suffered an enormous amount of adversity. In their 20's they often suffer homelessness, may be single parents, have been incarcerated, and are struggling to create a better life for themselves.
We provide a robust financial literacy program that includes workshops and one-on-one mentoring over the course of a year. This gives them not only the basic information they need to make financial decisions, but also something they often have not experienced - a caring individual who is there for them over the course of a year, someone who listens to them and empowers them, who gives them the message through their caring that they matter.
The work we do is in demand. There are thousands of women and men who need and want our services, and to expand the work we do we need to hire staff. To this point we have used volunteers for almost everything we do.
While we have volunteers working on grant proposals to foundations, we also want to create some crowdfunding to generate some much needed funds.
