Las Angelitas del Pueblo is the volunteer organization that gives free tours of the Los Angeles Pueblo and Olvera Street. The docent training class is on the five Saturdays in March 2024 from 9:30 am to 12: noon, with a final class on Wednesday, April 10. Classes are held in the Tour Office next to the historic Fire House next to the Plaza across from Union Station. Come learn about Los Angeles history from the Tongva Native Americans, the founding of the city by the Spanish, the transfer to Mexico and then to the United States. You will also learn about how to give tours both to school groups and to walk-in visitors. Once you have completed the training and have been certified, you will be able to give tours of the Pueblo and Olvera Street.

Mission Statement
Las Angelitas del Pueblo exists to preserve and promote the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the historical and cultural heritage of Los Angeles, giving particular attention to "El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument."
Description
Las Angelitas del Pueblo traces its roots to the summer of 1966. Originally starting out as giving bus tours of "old Los Angeles," by 1969 Las Angelitas del Pueblo was actually formed as an organization and presented the idea of giving free tours of the "old Plaza to the State Historical Commission. The commission accepted the proposal and a Visitors Center was officially opened and tours began on Sunday, June 8, 1969.
The concept was to provide educational and historically accurate walking tours of the Plaza and to continue bus tours and slide presentations. The original membership in Las Angelitas del Pueblo consisted of twenty dedicated, knowledgeable, energetic women volunteers. Since then many more historical minded women and men have joined the group and today there are over sixty active docents giving tours. In 1974, the California Historical Society selected Las Angelitas del Pueblo to receive their Annual Merit Award. Every year, thousands of visitors take our tours of the "old Plaza of Los Angeles." In 2004, Las Angelitas del Pueblo won the first ever Save Our History award from The History Channel.
