At Jones Park, we demonstrate Texas history with replicas of a 19th century pioneer homestead and an Akokisa village. These are utilized year round for elementary school field trips, educational events, day camps, and community festivals.

To add to the authenticity of the homestead this fall, we will be fencing a patch of land, turning the soil, and planting a pioneer vegetable garden.

Participants need to wear closed-toed shoes and bring their own gloves. Long pants, a hat, and a refillable water bottle are also recommended. Tools and training are provided. No experience necessary. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent.
