Our hospice organization needs compassionate volunteers to provide caregiver relief visits to support the families of our patients in the Delaware beaches area. Being a hospice volunteer is simple, yet profoundly rewarding. There is no medical or personal care involved - just caring from the heart! Caregiver relief visits are based on your availability and are always close to your home. Caregiver relief visits allow a patient's caregiver to go to a doctor appointment or run necessary errands so that they can continue to take care of themselves while also caring for their loved one. Caregiver relief visits are 1-3 hours and include you sitting with the patient to provide a supportive presence so the patient is not alone while their family member is out of the house. During these visits you can simply sit with the patient, chat, read, or play cards or checkers with the patient.
