3 vegetable gardens that would need to be cared for, harvested, and replanted. We also have hedges and trees that would need to be watered and trimmed. We are also in the process more planting more things which would need to be watched over and cared for.
The weeks and hours are flexible but require least 1-2 hour shifts lasting throughout the summer.
Volunteers must be able to lift at least 25lbs and stand on their feet for 30 minutes at a time.

Commonpoint Queens is a non-profit, multi-service agency with flagship sites in Little Neck, Bayside, Forest Hills, and 33 additional sites throughout the community that provides a diverse array of programs and services to over 35,000 people. Since our inception, almost 60 years ago, the Samuel Field Y has been dedicated to the core element of our mission - enhancing the quality of individual, family and communal life through service to people of all ages, ability levels, stages of life and backgrounds.
Description
For almost 60 years, Commonpoint Queens (formerly The Samuel Field and Central Queens YMWHA) has remained strong and vital and has continued to provide new and innovative programs to the greater Northeast Queens and Western Nassau communities.
As we embark on our sixth decade of providing high quality programs and services to our community, individuals of all ages learn and flourish within a caring and supportive environment at one of our 36 different sites throughout our neighborhoods.
We continue to provide life enhancing and life sustaining services to the over 35,000 people who depend on us to be their community center at each stage of their lives.
