Stewardship Saturday - Stiltgrass Workshop

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission

  • 1 person is interested

Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment, meet like-minded people, and explore.

Stiltgrass (Mirostegium vimineum) is a new invasive plant to Washtenaw County including WCPARC's Botsford Preserve. Stiltgrass easily out-competes native plants, is difficult to manage once established, and is unsightly in lawns.

At this volunteer workday, you will learn how to identify stiltgrass, help map its location throughout Botsford Preserve, and hand-pull small populations. Botsford Preserve is located in Scio Township near Miller and Wagner Roads. Registration is required (and will provide meeting location). Please visit parksonline.ewashtenaw.org (#841007) to register.
