Foster Homes for Adoptive Cats & Kittens

ORGANIZATION: Purrfect Cat Rescue

Purrfect Cat Rescue is looking for people interested in opening their homes to cats and kittens currently up for adoption. Our core volunteers will guide those new to caring for a pet through the process, provide all medical care, as well as litter and food for those worried about the financial commitment. In addition to fostering the cats in your home, you will be responsible for bringing them into our adoption clinics a couple of days a week and taking them to any required veterinary appointments. We are open to any type of family, as long as they have the time and abilities required to get the job done.

Volunteers can set their terms, within reason, should they prefer bottle babies or weaned kittens, but in general we require you to take at least a pair of cats, if not an entire litter (usually not more than five) so that the cats will have companions to play with and learn from. We often get requests from people who wish to only foster a single cat but since most cats and kittens come to us in multiples, a single-cat foster tends to complicate rather simplify things for us. If you prefer short-term fostering, we may also be interested in taking on a few "emergency fosters" who can foster cats for just a couple of weeks while another foster is on vacation or has a personal emergency.

Fostering animals is a good introduction to the responsibility and fun of having a pet in your home and can be a useful tool in teaching young people responsibility and thinking beyond their own needs.

Those interested can contact us by e-mail at thepurrfectcats@gmail.com or at our weekly adoption events; the times and locations are listed at purrfectcatrescue.org

About Purrfect Cat Rescue

Location:

6221 Joaquin Murieta Ave Unit I, Newark, CA 94560, US

Mission Statement

Purrfect Cat Rescue focuses our energies on the adoption of home-fostered cats and kittens and educating the public on the availability of low-cost spay and neuter resources for both tame companion cats and free-roaming cats found around the community. Through our weekly adoption events, we have found homes for thousands of cats who would otherwise be neglected and abandoned. These weekly events, hosted in local pet supply stores, also serve as the ideal venue to sell low-cost spay and neuter vouchers which reduce the number of free-roaming cats, improving the quality of life for both the cats and the people who share their environment.

Description

  • A small cat rescue located in the SF East Bay. We serve Fremont, Newark, and Union City.
  • Weekly adoption events of home-fostered cats.
  • All cats and kittens brought into our program come directly from the public, reducing those who end up in local shelters.
  • Low-cost spay and neuter program for use in both tame and feral cats.
  • Education and instruction on spaying and neutering local free-roaming cat populations.
  • Spay/neuter and vaccination resources, and space at our own adoption events for members of the public wishing to foster cats and kittens they have found.
