ORGANIZATION: Metropolitan Family Services Howard Evanston Community Center

The Howard Area Community Center Family Literacy Program provides educational and developmental programming for children of participants attending classes in our Adult Education program. This position will support activities for children ages 5-12 enrolled in the Family Literacy Summer Program.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Family Literacy staff to implement educational and recreational activities for a group of between 15 and 20 children, ages 5-12.
  • Work with program participants on a variety of arts and crafts projects.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate games and physical activities.
  • Help set up for daily activities.
  • Accompany and supervise participants on field trips to local resources (i.e. parks, library, beach).

Many of HECC’s services are life-sustaining. Individuals and families set their own goals, and HECC is here to lend a helping hand along their journey to success.
