Every Wednesday morning, we will receive a food truck from Harry Chapin Food Bank that will need to be unloaded and shelves stocked. We need 3-4 volunteers every Wednesday from 11-1 to help with this.
Then on Thursday from 10-4pm, we will have three 2 hour shifts where we need voluneers to sign-in, welcome, and be present with clients, as well as folks making boxes of food and helping clients put boxes in their cars. At the end of the day, we hope volunteers will help with clean-up and making sure everything is ready for the next day.

We feed people physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
Description
Wintergarden Presbyterian Church is located in the "Murdock" area of Port Charlotte, between Collingswood and Pellam. We are in the middle of our wonderful neighborhood and love being here! The people of Wintergarden make up a delightful congregation who are loving, caring, and devoted people. Every week, we gather for Bible study, worship, and fellowship. In addition, we are excited about growing individually in our faith, growing as a faith community, and living out our faith in our community.
God is doing amazing things in our congregation and community every day. We are overwhelmed with how many people struggle with food insecurity in our county. We are starting a new food pantry that will run every Thursday beginning in July 11 from 12-8pm and on the first Saturaday of the month beginning in August of 2019. In addition, we help with an evening meal once a month at the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. We know we "love to feed people" and are looking now at how we help meet the daily needs of those who are hungry and how we help advocate to reduce the levels of food insecurity in our community. As we continue this journey of faith, we are excited to see how God will work in and through us to share God’s love with everyone we meet. As we continue this journey, we will continue to embody being "a church of hope, love, and friendship" for you and your family. Know you are welcome to join us on this journey.
