ORGANIZATION: We Connect The Dots

STEAM_Research_Nebula_Academy

We Connect The Dots (WCTD) is a non-profit which looks to close the digital divide through collaboration with the community, education, government and the technology industry. Our mission is to excite, inform and educate students about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) careers. WCTD impacts students at a local, national and global level and our programs create a hunger for learning that empowers students to find their own paths to success.

As an education organization we create collaborative curriculum design projects that enable real-world workforce skills development. Our latest project is to teach students the full life cycle of a website design project. From the business conversations to the full deployment of the first release or minimum viable product (MVP). This is an opportunity to create a learning program where students can experience the many roles involved in a website design or re-design and the skills necessary for each role in the overall project. As a volunteer you will be working with one or more students on this project as a mentor to support their learning experience and their success.

The project will be to renovate or redesign our organizations website (wctd.org). We will document the entire process and all associated conference calls and development work to produce an online learning program that students can utilize as well as educators seeking to support students in gaining experience in the world of web and mobile application development using a real-world scenario. We are seeking volunteers to be a part of this project and also give our students direction, advice, and mentorship with the re-design process.

This posting is regarding a UX Designer Role.

The UX Designer will be responsible for the ideation and creation of our overall user experience.
