This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about eating disorders! MEDA is seeking individuals who are willing to commit time, effort, and resources to MEDA's mission. Prior board experience is helpful, but is not a requirement. Candidates should be passionate for MEDA's cause and possess qualities of dedication, integrity, honesty, and collegiality in stewarding the organization towards a common goal.

Requirements:

1. Finance or human resources experience.

2. Personal commitment to devote 2-4 hours per month.

Responsibilities:

1. Serves on one committee. Finance, Development, or Executive Committee.

2. Works with the board and financial manager in preparing the annual budget, and presenting the budget to the Board for approval. (finance committee)

3. Works with the board and the Executive Director to develop Fiscal Policies for recommendation to the Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization.

4. Works with the board and the Executive Director to develop long-term financial strategies.

5. Attend monthly meetings, the second Tuesday of the month from 6-8pm.

We are the foremost eating disorders nonprofit organization in New England. We provide education about eating disorders and their underlying causes to develop a compassionate community that promotes hopefulness and supports healing. We offer a variety of services to support individuals and loved ones through the various stages of their journey.

  • Members of the MEDA Board serve a two-year term, which may be renewed for successive terms. Members are asked to serve on one or two committees of the Board. Board meetings are held 4 -5 times a year. Time commitment varies from 1-4 hours per month.
  • We are seeking passionate and energetic individuals who have a passion for issues related to body image, eating disorders and self-esteem.
