Lesson volunteer training is your gateway to all opportunities to volunteer at From the Ground Up. Now that the school year is upon us, we are especially looking for volunteers to assist with after school and weekend programs. Anyone 14 years of age and older is welcome to join us. If you plan to attend the training, please send an email to ftguvolunteers@gmail.com so we may plan for the correct number of people.

Mission Statement
From the Ground Up Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc. (FTGU) offers Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to persons of all abilities, life challenges and stages. The intuitive and accepting nature of the horse, as well as its movement, motivates participants to achieve physical, cognitive, emotional, social and educational goals. The horses’ size instills confidence, mutual respect and trust in all who partner with them on the ground or in the saddle. It is our mission to facilitate all that is possible through this partnership. Our Vision From the Ground Up Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc. will offer excellence in Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies with emphasis on safety, quality and professionalism. From The Ground Up will lead community education in EAAT through increased programming, educational workshops, higher education, research and service learning. Through the power of the horse we will improve the lives of our participants, families and community.

From The Ground Up is so successful because of our outstanding volunteers. Our volunteers serve in a variety of different ways from lesson volunteers and barn help to Board members and fundraisers. - Must be at least 14
- Orientation or Training
- We ask for a minimum of two hours/week, and can accommodate more if you wish. We work with the volunteer's availability!
- The work is physical. Volunteers should be able to walk and occasionally jog through a half hour to hour lesson. Should also be able to lift some weight (saddle, for example).
