There are many ways in which to help at WolfStone Ranch, from helping feed the animals to helping clean for them. The dog play yards need to be regularly mowed, and there are many handyman-type projects that always need to be done.

Mission Statement

Building a Spiritually-Based, Activist Community Around the Ethos of Compassionate Treatment of All Animals Creating an Environment that Supports Healing for All Living Beings Continuing to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Place Animals Within Our Own Growing Community

Description

Founded in 2010, WolfStone Ranch (WSR ) is a state-licensed, tax-exempt, nonprofit animal rescue that has so far rescued over 260 dogs and cats. But we are now interested in broaden our mission to become a spiritually-based, activist community dedicated to making the world a safer and kinder place for all living beings.

While WSR is an animal rescue, its goal is NOT to be a conventional facility such as the Farmington Pet Adoption Center... no need to duplicate their work! Instead, WSR’s goal is to do what they CANNOT. For instance, I envision our community setting up programs that include behavioral rehabilitation for emotionally wounded animals, a low-cost spay/neuter/vaccination clinic and a feral cat Trap/Neuter/Release initiative.

But in addition to helping needy ANIMALS, WSR’s mission also includes helping vulnerable PEOPLE... which, if you think about it, really is one of the very best ways to help stop, or even prevent, the unnecessary suffering and untimely death of defenseless animals! How? Through a community drum circle and other community-building experiences, as well as a spiritual retreat for pets (and their people).
