Light The Night HBG

We are in need of volunteers to assist both with set-up on the day of the event (from about 9:30 am - 4:00 pm) and to assist during and after the event (from about 4pm-11pm). Set-up volunteers will be helping us set up and prepare materials prior to the event, and event/tear-down volunteers may help with registration, hand out lanterns and food, help in the Kids Zone, etc., and help with tear down after the event. All volunteers will be fed and will receive a free volunteer t-shirt. While we hope that our volunteers can participate during the time schedule above, please let us know if you are interested in volunteering but are only available during a different timeframe.

We are also happy to have some volunteers come in to fold t-shirts or prepare the lanterns during the week of September 15th, or any groups that may be able to help with loading the truck on Thursday & Friday, Sept. 19-20. Volunteers are welcome to reach out to me directly, or you can pass along any names of confirmed volunteers to me so I can keep track of how many we have.

About Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Central Pennsylvania Chapter

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer. In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Central Pennsylvania Chapter was founded in 1974 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves the following 17 counties: Adams, Bradford, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, and York.
