United Way of King County is seeking 100 AmeriCorps Summer Associate members to be a part of a team to end childhood hunger in King County. We are seeking full-time members to be a part of United Way's Summer Meals Program, a program to help children and teens access enrichment activities and healthy meals during the summer.

Program Overview :
Access to good food and supportive relationships shouldn't end when school is out. In King County, 100,000 low-income children and teenagers rely on free or discounted meals during the school year, but only 1 in 5 of them access locally served free meals during the summer. Summer Associates serving meals at libraries, parks and community centers built strong relationships, encourage summer learning, and unlock thousands of dollars for healthy food in their communities.

Start & End Dates: June 19, 2019 - August 27, 2019

:
* Self-starters who are passionate about supporting their community and public service
* Experience working independently in high-energy environments
* Willingness to engage stakeholders and design programs responsive to community need
* Strong verbal communication and outreach to parents, youth and other community members
* Creativity and cultural humility in working with vulnerable populations and community partners

Benefits and Compensation  :
