Do you love going to shows to experience Richmond's thriving music scene? Do you have a talent for graphic design or want to better your skills? Are you always checking out social media? Put your talents & interests to spread the word about WRIR 97.3 FM: the only all-volunteer, low power, community radio station headquartered in and broadcasting from the City of Richmond. We are always in need of creative people like you to join our team of volunteers who plan special events, music festivals, social media campaigns, etc. Whether you do it professionally or just want to learn, WRIR welcomes all skill levels. Our engagement committee meets the 3rd Monday of every month, 7p, 1621 W. Broad St., 2nd Floor (stairs).

Mission Statement
WRIR airs underrepresented music, news and views in order to provide a platform for cultural diversity in Richmond. In other words, we play what other stations won’t. We are also a true community radio station. This means we are locally owned and, by charter, can never be bought out by any non-local entity. WRIR also represents the community by its many volunteers. WRIR’s FCC license to operate is held by the nonprofit group, Virginia Center for Public Press (VCPP). VCPP is a 501(c)3 organization that’s funded through contributions from listeners, underwriting sponsorships and grants.
Description
WRIR is 100% volunteer powered. We are the largest LPFM in the country (in terms of audience and content creation) operated by passionate volunteers-some pitch in a couple times each year, and others spend 20+ hours each week here at the station. You will volunteer with 200+ people of many cultural, social and economic backgrounds from all over the Richmond area. What brings us together is a belief in truly independent community radio.
