Bristol Hospice of Pueblo is looking for 11th Hour Volunteers. These volunteers are "on-call" during specific hours of the the day to sit with patients that are actively dying. Patients who have little or no family members nearby often find themselves isolated and alone during their last days. Our 11th Hour Volunteers keep vigil to provide a comforting presence needed by patients and families in the final hours of life.
11th Hour Volunteers can help by:
- Being a calm presence during a difficult time
- Sitting with the patient and/or family member
- Talking softly or singing to the patient
- Sharing a sacred silence
- Holding hands, massaging hands or feet
- Praying, reading inspirational text or scripture
- Honoring cultural and faith traditions of the patient
If you are interested in being a part of this very sacred time in a person's life, please contact us for more information. We provide the training that we feel you need to be successful and you are always supported by our entire staff.
