Keep Music Alive Mission

Keep Music Alive is a national non-profit and the founder of two international music holidays: Teach Music Week (March), Kid Music Day (October). In addition to partnering with hundreds of music schools for these holidays, we also hold local Instrument Petting Zoo events throughout the year in the Philadelphia area. For each Instrument Petting Zoo, we bring in dozens of guitars, keyboards, ukuleles, and lots of different percussion instruments for kids to try out with some guided instruction from our volunteers. Our goal with these events is to light the spark that will help kids begin their own musical journey. Our ultimate goal is to help more kids reap the educational, therapeutic and social benefits of playing music.

Please let us know if you are available for one or more of these upcoming events:

* Friday June 21st (Make Music Day) - Ridley Township Public Library - 1 PM to 2:30 PM
* Monday July 29th - St. Malacy School Summer Camp - 1 PM to 3 PM
* Sunday Sept 22nd - Hedgerow Theatre - Rose Valley/PA - 1 PM to 3 PM
* Friday Dec 13th - Legoland - Plymouth Meeting Mall - 7 PM to 9 PM
* Saturday Dec 21st (Make Music Winter) - Ridley Township Public Library - 1 PM to 3 PM

Transportation - Depending on your location we may be able to provide transportation to and from event.

Note - Many events are all volunteer based, however we are sometimes able to provide a small stipend to our musician helpers.

Teach Music Week is designed to encourage musicians and music schools everywhere to offer a free lesson to new students (kids or adults). Kids Music Day is designed to encourage music schools and retail locations to hold community events featuring kids and music.
