Senior Hospice Volunteers
ORGANIZATION: Elara Caring
Please visit the new page to apply.
Remember how good you felt after you did something for someone else? Being retired with more free time, become a volunteer for a hospice patient. WHY you may ask? It just all adds up:
doing good for others + doing good for yourself = physical, social, and psychological health benefits!
So, now is your chance to try something you may never have done before. By volunteering as a Senior Hospice Volunteer, you have the opportunity to help other seniors, younger or older than you, to have a special companion whom he/she can spend quality time. You can watch TV or a movie, play a game, listen or sing along to the radio, or just chat and reminisce about "the good old days." All we ask is for an hour or two of your time each week to visit with an elderly person who is unable to venture out due to a physical or mental disability. Hours are flexible to your schedule- days, evenings, or weekends.
