TEDXSeattle

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSeattle, where x = independently organized TED event.

TEDxSeattle is one of the first and longest running TEDx events in the world. Now we are proud to say it is one of the largest as well. What started in 2010 as a single-day event called TEDxRainier with an audience of 600 people has evolved into TEDxSeattle with an audience that now fills McCaw Hall’s 2,800 seat auditorium.

The TEDxSeattle organization and annual event is a 100% volunteer-run and self-supporting nonprofit and we are currently looking for an Event Manager to join our team!

In this role, you will be responsible for putting on the TEDxSeattleWomen event. You would be responsible for hiring a team of individuals to assist you in this project as well as leverage resources from the larger TEDxSeattle team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build a team of professionals to assist you in planning this event
  • Build of a master project plan and organize all of these dependencies and requirements needed to host an amazing event
  • Coordinate Sponsors/Partners
  • Manage the P&L for this event
  • Define a Marketing and Promotion strategy
  • Secure a venue and organize vendors

Experience Required

  • 3-5 years Experience planning events for several hundred attendees
  • Experience curating speakers/entertainment for professional events
  • Professional experience building promotional/Marketing plans for events

Time Commitment

  • 3-6 hours/week, up to 10 hours/week in the weeks leading up to the event.
