Richard Morris Hunt was the architect of our building. The front facade of the Metropolitan Museum and the pedestal that the Statue of the Liberty stands on are two other structures that Richard Morris Hunt designed.

Are you passionate about New York City? Do you like interacting with people from all over the world? Help travelers have incredible and organized travel experiences! We are looking for New Yorkers to work the Info Desk at HI USA's landmark location HI New York. Info Desk Volunteers will work 3 hour shifts when we are most busy: during the morning and during check-in in the evening.

Who We Are

We bring travelers together in the largest hostel network in the USA, but that’s just the start: from local tours and experiences, to experiential learning programs, HI USA strives to bring moments of cultural understanding to our guests and community members. HI USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, member-based organization that reinvests our surpluses back into our hostels and programs so they can have an even greater impact, year after year.
