Volunteering in our gardens and grounds is one of our most important volunteer opportunities. Are gardens are half of the fun when come to visit our 42 room estate with 12 acres of land. We are looking for dedicated volunteers who do not have to be experienced. Our Gardens Curator, Phil Riske, will train you on how things should be done like weeding, mulching, planting, digging, cutting, watering, identifying and much more. Description
The Hermitage Museum is an Arts and Crafts style mansion stituated on 12 acres of gardens and grounds. Located on the Lafayette River, the Museum houses a collection of over 40,000 items that span 5,000 years and the globe. Built by William and Florence Sloane between 1908 and 1937, the Hermitage has been a Museum for 75 years. Come visit us, volunteer and explore this hidden gem in Norfolk's Lochhaven neighborhood.
