ORGANIZATION: Human-I-T

Duties:

  1. Assist in operating and processing equipment and handle movement of the product
  2. Inspect IT inventory assets and wipe data from hardware
  3. Clean and refurbish computers and monitors
  4. Communicate with volunteer coordinator to get tasks done
  5. Ensure that the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and instructions are always followed
  6. Dispose of damaged or defective items and e-waste
  7. Clean display cases, shelves and aisles and other parts of the facility in order to have a tidy environment and maintain sanitary conditions
  8. Help in carrying and moving goods/palettes to the vehicles

Specification;

  1. A high school diploma/GED or an equivalent preferred

Skills:

  1. Ability to stand, bend, twist, lift and carry goods worth 25 pounds or more
  2. Great communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Willingness to learn and follow directions well
  4. Demonstrates honesty and integrity
  5. Self-directed worker
  6. Able to work independently and a part of a diverse team
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  8. Pays excellent attention to detail

Context:

  1. Indoors, in a warehouse setting; staying on foot and sitting down, lifting, working in varying temperatures

Description

-Test and evaluate computers for working components.

-Repurpose machines using working components.

-Repurposed machines will then be loaded with a secure, open source system that will ensure families always have up to date software at no cost.

-Open doors to repurposing process allowing volunteers to learn a vocation and earn a free computer (if certain qualifications are met).

This process will allow us to equip computers with specific software and links that promote education and prosperity.
