Pet volunteers needed for Greater Indianapolis area hospice. Do you have a dog, cat, other animal that is great with people and would like to visit hospice patients in their home or facility? Intrepid hospice is looking for you and your furry loved one! This volunteer will make visits to designated patients, write a short report of visit day, and submit it to our office. Visits can be scheduled at times determined by volunteer - during the day, evenings, or weekends. All pets must have been screened by a vet, have an updated shot record, and completed a pet therapy program. Volunteers are not required to be available to the entire Greater Indianapolis area. Volunteer may choose how far they would like to travel with their pet.

Description
We have been serving hospice patients and their families throughout the greater Indianapolis area since 2014. Our staff provides specialized care and services dedicated to improving the quality of life of those we serve. A large part of this dedication includes our volunteers, who help us meet our goals by visiting with patients, assisting families by staying with patients while they run errands, attend appointments, etc., or by becoming involved with one of our specialty programs (pet therapy, massage therapy, music therapy, barber/beautician visits, birthday greeters, craft helpers, flower delivery, etc). - Minimum of 4 hours a month. Flexible schedule. Need to have a background screen, tuberculosis (tb) skin test and drug screen. Volunteer needs to be at least 18
