Join the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains to help track the spread of invasive shot hole borers!
We need your help to discover the full extent of this new and worsening problem facing our native oak trees! Where are the infestations? Which tree species are at risk? How fast are these beetles spreading? Are they killing our native trees?
Learn how to use iNaturalist and become a part of important citizen science lead research.
Please come prepared with the iNaturalist app downloaded on your phone and join the following projects:
"PSHB of the Santa Monica Mountains" & "Bad Beetles of the Santa Monica Mountains".
Be sure to wear durable shoes and please bring your reusable water bottles. Space for this event is limited so be sure to RSVP in a timely manner. There will be more events to come if you cannot make it to this one!
If you have additional questions regarding this event please email Allison at ADellaBella@rcdsmm.org
